CARB - California Air Resource Board
Solution: Diesel Particulate Filters
CARB’s mission is “to promote and protect health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects of the economy of the state”. California is the only state permitted to create standards. Other states can follow either Califronia or US federal emission standards. CARB has historically set the highest air standards so most equipment sold throughout the US are built to CARB regulation.
